Fence Complete!

Woohoo! A long time coming but worth the wait.
Stephen finished our fence today. It looks great! Sydnee and Scout ran around, enjoying their new found freedom or what they think of as freedom (running as fast a they can in a circle with no one else outside). I can't wait for the cotton to start blooming. The view be beautiful from our back porch looking beyond our fenceline.
We also have rocks around the flowers beds. We still need to get some dirt and build up the beds but things are definately moving along.

Tuesday Lunch

Today my husband took me to lunch. We walked from my office downtown to Sentry Drug. A good southern meal...chicken fried steak, beef tips and gravy, okra, mashed potatoes. What more could a woman ask for? After our lunch we strolled down the street and sat on a bench and just enjoyed the rest of my break. I love you , Peanut.

we have gates

Stephen and Brandon are making progress on our fence! While they worked on the gates I mixed up margaritas for them. Good trade off, don't you think? Now we have gates on the fence but we need some fence on the gates:) Sydnee and Scout can't wait to try out their new fenced backyard.

Just an ordinary Saturday at the Workmans

Stephen again digging holes in the back yard. Our back fence came in this week, so he is hard at work getting it put in. The dogs are anxiously waiting for there backyard paradise. He and Brandon cut down all the dead tree limbs that could possibly fall on our fence during hurricane season, so now the digging has begun.
While Stephen was outside digging holes, I was inside makeing cake! Here is the christening cake for Emerleigh Rae, Stephen's God daughter.

Trees 1-2-3

We planted trees today. A Drummond Red Maple in the front yard and two crepe myrtles in the flower beds on either side of the house. They look great. Now the task is just keeping them watered.

Weekend Company

We had our first overnight guests this weekend. Jamie, Ricky, Natalie, and Brandon came to visit. Ricky brought his boat and we took it out to Kincaid for the afternoon. We had a blast. After being on the lake, Stephen grilled dinner on the barbeque pit for everyone and we went out on the town. Sunday morning we had blueberry pancakes and strawberries! http://www2.snapfish.com/fbshareredirect/p=120291248895239742/l=3268660009/g=19807217/redirectURL=share/otsi=SALBBL/AlbumID=1620733009/a=19807217_19807217/usercomments=I_xqd%20like%20to%20share%20my%20Snapfish%20photos%20with%20you.%20Once%20you%20have%20checked%20out%20my%20photos%20you%20can%20order%20prints%20and%20upload%20your%20own%20photos%20to%20share./counttext=32%20photos/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish

Privacy by Peanut

Check out our fabulous cedar privacy fence! Stephen did an awesome job. It looks great. Thanks to help from Dad, they got the holes dug with the giant auger (that was a sight...Dad on one side of the auger and Stephen on the other with his feet coming off the ground). They put the posts and runners up, then Stephen started on the cedar pickets. He got most of it finished today. All that is left is our gates.
There will be a bit of a wait until our aluminum fence for the back span of the yard comes in and gets installed. The dogs have to remain inside for now but we are getting so close to having our fenced backyard.
Notice the nicely mowed yard...Courtesy of Christal Workman!

Ghost Plants

So we started a bit of landscaping today. Nanny helped me plant these Ghost Plants in these flower pots that Stephen painted for me. Nanny said that she just can't seem to kill this plant so I thought that it might just be the plant for me. I found out that some call this plant an "Architectural Plant" because it has "good bones". Letting the leaf shape, size, and color be the defining elements. They are still pretty small but they will start to fill out once they grow. I think they look great and I love the color contrast against the black pot!

New Items

We are starting to get things hung up on the walls of the house. We hung up Stephen's guitars and some paintings in the back bedroom.
And we hung this mirror in the front bedroom.

Sydnee and Scout got a new bed too!
